1. Introduction

CLYK Inc. (“CLYK,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) built CLYK with privacy at its core. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the CLYK application and website (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Your Data, Your Ownership

You own everything you create on CLYK. Your images, videos, edits, and conversations belong entirely to you. CLYK does not claim any ownership rights over your content. We exist to provide you a platform — not to profit from what you put on it.

3. Encryption & Security

All user content on CLYK is protected by strong encryption:

  • Messages are end-to-end encrypted using the Signal protocol. Only you and your intended recipients can read them. CLYK cannot access message content.
  • Images and videos are encrypted on your device before transmission, using on-device encryption and decryption similar to the Signal protocol. Media is never accessible to CLYK in unencrypted form.
  • Edits and other content follow the same on-device encryption model.

Because encryption and decryption happen entirely on your device, CLYK cannot read, scan, or analyze your content at any point — not in transit, not at rest, not ever.

4. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your phone number and/or email address. This information is cryptographically obfuscated into a non-identifiable but reproducible fingerprint — meaning we can verify your identity without storing your raw contact details. You create your own display name, and you can choose whether your profile is searchable by other users.

Anonymous analytics: We collect anonymous usage metrics (such as feature usage counts and session data) and crash reports to help us improve the Service. This data contains no personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to you.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Provide customer support
  • Enforce our Terms of Service
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

CLYK will, under no circumstances, use or sell your data for services outside those explicitly requested by you. We do not sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties. The only exception is where disclosure is required to comply with applicable jurisdictional laws.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a minimal set of infrastructure providers to operate the Service:

  • Cloudflare — content delivery and infrastructure
  • Google Cloud Platform — cloud hosting

We do not use ad networks, tracking pixels, or data brokers. These providers process data only as necessary to deliver the Service and are bound by their own privacy obligations.

7. Data Storage & Location

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. All stored data is encrypted at rest. Given that your content is end-to-end encrypted on your device, even our own infrastructure cannot access it.

8. Your Rights & Control

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: You can request a complete copy of your data at any time.
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your data at any time. We will process deletion requests promptly.
  • Portability: You can request your data in a portable format.
  • Profile visibility: You control whether your display name is searchable within the app.

9. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. CLYK does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will terminate the account and delete all associated data promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
